Our CEO, Takahagi, recently served as a judge at the finals of the “4th National High School Policy Koshien” (Themed Category), hosted by the Junior Chamber International Japan (a public interest incorporated association), which was held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the House of Councillors Annex of the National Diet Building.

On the day of the event, he scored the policy presentations delivered by high school teams that had advanced through preliminary rounds in 10 regions across the country and participated in a question-and-answer session with the teams.

For the 4th competition, applications were received from all 47 prefectures nationwide for the first time since the event’s inception, with a record-high 1,010 teams and a total of 3,045 participants. ■About the National High School Policy Koshien

The “National High School Policy Koshien” is a nationwide competition in which high school students independently consider various social issues and formulate and present policies aimed at resolving them.

For this fourth edition, policy proposals were solicited in the following two categories:

Prescribed Theme Category

“Realizing Desired Employment and Work Styles! Policies That Allow Young People to Enter Society with Confidence”

Open Theme Category

“My Top Priority If I Became Prime Minister”

A total of 1,010 teams—comprising 3,045 participants—applied from all 47 prefectures nationwide. Of these, 200 teams that passed the initial screening participated in preliminary competitions held in 10 regions: Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Tokai, Hokuriku-Shinetsu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa.

A total of 20 teams—10 from the Set Theme Category and 10 from the Open Theme Category—that emerged victorious from their respective regions competed in the finals held at the House of Councillors Annex of the National Diet Building.

■ Participating in the Judging Panel Based on Experience in Corporate Management and Organizational Development

To date, we have advanced various initiatives related to the work environment and organizational management, including the implementation of flexible work arrangements, the promotion of well-being, the systematization of work processes, and productivity improvements.

At this final competition, drawing on the experience we have cultivated through corporate management and organizational development, Takahagi served as a judge evaluating the policy presentations by high school students.

In the “Set Theme” category in particular, under the theme “Realizing Desired Employment and Work Styles! Policies That Allow Young People to Enter Society with Peace of Mind,” high school students—who are about to enter the workforce—presented various policy proposals regarding jobs and work styles from their unique perspectives.

During the finals, each team presented their policy proposals and participated in a question-and-answer session with the judges.

Taking into account the social issues identified by each team and the content of their policies, Takahagi asked questions about the conditions necessary for implementation, the involvement of businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions, and the approach needed to establish these policies as sustainable systems.

This event provided high school students with an opportunity to compile and present concrete policy proposals from their own perspectives, based on issues they observed in their daily lives and information they researched themselves.
