We have obtained ‘Science Based Target (SBT) approval’ from the international initiative, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)!

We are pleased to announce that we have obtained ‘SBT certification’ from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an international initiative. This certification confirms that our corporate greenhouse gas emission reduction targets are aligned with the levels required by the Paris Agreement.

The SBTi is jointly operated by the following four organizations:
・CDP (a coalition of institutional investors promoting disclosure of climate change mitigation information)
・UNGC (United Nations Global Compact)
・WRI (World Resources Institute)
・WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature)

We have set a target to reduce our Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030 compared to fiscal year 2023.
You can view the targets set by Massive Act here.

■What are SBTs?
Science-Based Targets (SBTs) are greenhouse gas reduction targets set by companies for a target year 5 to 15 years ahead. These targets are aligned with the levels required by the Paris Agreement (which aims to limit global temperature rise well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit the increase to 1.5°C).
Over 1,000 Japanese companies have obtained this certification.

■Our Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets
▼Scope 1 (Direct greenhouse gas emissions from the company’s own operations)
Maintain zero emissions by 2030

▼Scope 2 (Indirect emissions from the use of electricity, heat, and steam supplied by others)
Reduce emissions by 42% by 2030 (base year: 2023)
Reduce emissions by 42% by 2030 (base year: 2023)

▼Scope 3 (indirect emissions other than Scope 1 and Scope 2)
Reduce emissions

Massive Act will use this SBT certification as an opportunity to redouble our efforts toward realizing a sustainable society.
